Servings

  • 3–4 servings

Ingredients

  • Pork ribs — 1–1.5 kg
  • Salt — to taste
  • Black pepper — to taste
  • Smokey Hickory BBQ sauce — 4–6 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ribs
Remove the inner membrane from the back of the ribs (this makes them more tender). Pat the meat dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. Low-temperature baking (main cook)
    Preheat the oven to 150–160°C.
Place the ribs on a baking tray and cover tightly with foil (this keeps them juicy).
Bake for 2–2.5 hours until the meat becomes tender and starts to pull away from the bone.
  3. Add BBQ sauce
Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully unwrap the foil.
Brush a generous layer of Smokey Hickory BBQ sauce over both sides of the ribs.
  4. Caramelize the glaze
Increase the oven temperature to 200–220°C.
Return the ribs to the oven (uncovered) and bake for 15–20 minutes, until the sauce becomes sticky, glossy, and slightly caramelized.
